![]() ![]() As growing urban wildlife populations bring humans and skunks ever closer, Miller's book will help us understand-and appreciate-these beautiful, intriguing, and wholly distinct animals. Moving from nature to culture, Miller delves into the long line of skunks that have played parts in literature, film, and folklore, from the antics of Pepe Le Pew to the role of skunks in Native American spiritual beliefs. Skunk (Reaktion Books - Animal) by Alyce Miller at .uk - ISBN 10: 1780234902 - ISBN 13: 9781780234908 - Reaktion Books - 2015 - Softcover. More than being unappreciated, skunks, Miller reveals, have a long history of persecution: killed off as smelly nuisances, they have also been hunted for their fur and, yes, their unique musk, which has found a perhaps unexpected use in perfume. and oh, boy, when they do it, no one can ignore them.īut there's far more to skunks than their stench, and with this beautifully illustrated entry in Reaktion's Animal series, Alyce Miller gives these furry scavengers their due. Solitary, nocturnal creatures, skunks generally go about their business unnoticed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rice said in a statement, “It’s always been my dream to see the worlds of my two biggest series united under a single roof so that filmmakers could explore the expansive and interconnected universe of my vampires and witches. The company will produce adaptations for its own TV networks and streaming services from the Rice material, with the author and her son Christopher acting as executive producers on all. The movie also is too long much of the overextended romantic subplot could have been pared out. For one thing, the attempt at a light touch misfires, as it causes the scariness to dissipate rather than to provide a contrast to it. However, I also agree that the attempt is not really a success though it does start out promisingly, and it has a few good touches, it misses the mark.
